the GossipThis show was quite surreal for me. I've been listening to this band since last November (short period of time, I know) but my fanaticism of their music is of medium-intensity which means I more or less know the lyrics to most of their songs and can totally relate. Beats me why they aren't as commercial as I think they ought to be.
It was
wicked. I absolutely loved it.
The concert was held at the Astoria, a place I have been meaning to visit since forever. We got there at about 8-ish and the Gossip started playing at around 9. Opening bands began their sets at six but we couldn't be bothered to start watching so early. We were up on the circle seats area and by that I don't mean proper theatre seats but instead mini-tables with chairs and rows of bar-tops with a view of the entire stage as opposed to the slightly restricted but up-close view from the floor. Fortunately for myself, I don't need nor want to be on a high to enjoy this sort of environment although alcohol-stink (like everywhere else in the UK) was omnipresent.
The female lead singer of the band has amazing vocals and has this screaming ability which tends to be more common amongst frontmen of rock bands. The Gossip performed all of my favourite tracks except for
Holy Water and they even played a cover of Aaliyah's
Are you that somebody? which totally brought back primary school memories.

I don't want the world. I only want what I deserve.
Oh and I've heard Estranged's 'Itu Kamu'. And I like it. ;)
