Nelly And I LandedWednesday, 21st February.
There wasn't any anticipation to see Nelly seeing how I have been rather busy in the last couple of weeks. I am still a little occupied with the dance show but rehearsals aren't constant. I haven't realized it as much but I am a big Nelly Furtado fan ie. I have all three of her albums; I got all three at the time they were released and at least one of her songs will always be on my iPod playlist rotation.
She played mostly tracks off her latest album, which I don't mind at all, but I got super-excited when she performed some of her earlier tracks eg.
Turn Off the Lights, Hey Man, Powerless and
Forca. The show opened with
Say It Right and in her set, she previewed the latest single off Timbaland's album featuring herself and JT called
Give It To Me, sang a cover of
Crazy by Gnarls Barkley, did a R&B rendition of
Like A Bird and tore it up with
No Hay Igual. She also sang
Showtime, a B-side song which I don't remember the title to, and blew the entire audience away with her hits
Promiscuous and
Maneater.
The concert was one of the better ones I've been to thus far. It was Nelly the Entertainer.
I nearly teared for
Try. There's this part in the song that goes..
All of the moments that already passed We'll try to go back and make them last All of the things we want each other to be We never will be And that's wonderful, and that's life And that's you, baby This is me, baby And we are, we are, we are, we are Free In our love We are free in our love
The wait? Worth it. My company? The best.
