Suatu Hari NantiKisah dua jiwaDi kemuncak yang teragungCinta dan setiaPengorbanankah yang menggunung?Last Saturday night, the parentals and I had the oppurtunity to check out Puteri Gunung Ledang, The Musical Season 2 ('twas the Gala Night). Naturally, since I was abroad the past year I was unable to catch the first run of the show which was held earlier this year (sometime February I think). I remember hearing reviews from Malaysian friends who had family/friends back home who had gone to watch. So my take on it? I thought it was exceptional! There wasn't the slightest impression of amateurism at all. Everyone, and I mean everyone did a great job, down to little Raja Ahmad. All the elements of a good musical remained intact throughout. There was certainly consistency in the dancing, singing and acting. I enjoyed most of the songs, although some were too jiwang for comfort. Haha. I glanced at the subtitles a lot for the first half of the play because the dialog was mostly in Indonesian. Okay fine, I read during the second half too even though it was then in Malay, just not as much.I'm not very experienced in writing reviews owing to the fact that I have trouble picking out parts and describing them to minute details and also due to my limited vocabulary in general. But you get the picture; it was great! I can't really state that it was the best Malaysian musical ever seeing that I lack the basis for comparison but let's just say I'm already in line for season 3 should they decide on another production. Kudos to all the talent for putting up a superb performance.Photographs from the night:
